George Ayittey gives a great talk about the problems Africa face, and the myths surrounding Africa. He talks about a new, young generation who are rising up to make a difference. And they are the reason he’s still optimistic about Africa’s future.

I can’t emphasize enough how important the people are. If the general public are willing to stand up and take the future into their own hands, anything is possible. A lot of times, the government and established bodies aren’t going to be the ones to make a difference, it’s the individuals.

Your country may not have problems to the extent of Africa’s, but a lot can probably be improved if individuals will take the future into their own hands. Will you be part of the your countries cheetah generation?
