Times reports that UK examiners are being told to make science exams easier.
Once again, I think this is an example of how the completely wrong aspect of education is being emphasized. I’ve never been that big a supporter of exams and all, but supporters of the system always talk about how they are the only way to measure how well a student grasps the concepts taught. Doesn’t making the exams easier completely undermine the purpose of the exams then? It places the focus solely on results, and on attaining good results just to look good, instead of what you’ve actually learned. If you ask me, the educators should instead be focusing on working on the curriculum and/or their teaching methods.
