An inspiring story of a group of people who were willing to stand up against tradition. It might have taken a long time (they’ve been playing for about 13 years), but they’re making a difference and breaking the taboo against women players.

    There is a great DVD all about this group of women drummers that goes into far more detail than this clip. It’s called “Obini Bata Cuba” on the EarthCDs label. There is a 50 min performance and a 10 minute interview with Eva, the same lady interviewed in this news clip. The DVD is available at earthcds website.
