All New (and hopefully improved) Sui Generis

Thanks for coming back. =). Glad to see you. If there's anything I can do for you, I'd love to hear from you. Drop me an email, or leave a comment, introduce yourself. I'd love to connect with you. Or if you have your own blog, why not let me promote your work?

I haven’t been around much (here and on Twitter) lately, and my apologies for that. But that’s because I’ve been spending the weekend setting up this WordPress account. Those of you reading through RSS might not have noticed, but my blog has been moved to http://derrickkwa.com/.

It’s a new location, with a new look, but it’s still more or less the same blog. I’ve got some plans for this domain, and this blog, that I won’t reveal until they are definite, but hopefully this blog will keep moving forward. I’ve got a couple of other post ideas as well. So despite the inactivity lately, this blog is definitely not dead.

So, for you guys who are reading through RSS, come down to the blog itself. I’ve created a couple of pages, which Blogger didn’t have, and the sidebars have different content from the sidebars of the blogger blog. Hope you’ll check it out at the domain itself, and let me know what you think.

Moving to WordPress

I’m intending to move my blog to WordPress. I know I mentioned it before, but I’m finally getting around to it. That said, was wondering if any of you would be interested/willing to help me create a theme (or customize one). I’ve got a basic idea for what I want, but can’t really pay too much. I would prefer something custom/unique (partly for the look, partly to fit in with the whole message of “Sui Generis”), which would normally cost quite a bit.

So if any of you are up for it, drop me a line. Or if you can’t design, but you’re willing to help me get a theme, you can make a donation here.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Hope you guys have a great 2008. Don’t be like the chicken in the cartoon. Make 2008 different. Make it count.

Mi Casa es Su Casa

Ok, maybe not my literal house. But this blog, my “virtual home”, if you will, is yours as much as mine. And in the spirit of Christmas, I thought I’d mention this.

This blog is licensed under Creative Commons. Without going into too much legalese, here’s what it means for you. It means you can take my content, and use it in any way you want, with just two conditions. Firstly, if you give me credit by linking to the site. And secondly, if you’re using it for a non-commercial use.

Why this license? Because I would love for you to take my content. I’d love to hear your thoughts and opinions on what I write. But I’d love credit and a link, not only for my ego (though it does play a part), but also to make it easier for me to track the conversations. So I can join in any conversations instigated by the things I write.

So please. Take my content. Reproduce it. Add your thoughts. It’d be an honor to have my content out there.

Students 2.0, and some personal updates

Sorry I haven’t been around much this week. My laptop’s been sort of screwing up lately. And my feed reader doesn’t work now, so I don’t have access to my RSS list at the moment. So it’s been kind of frustrating and tough for me to get in the flow of things – a lot of my inspiration comes from other blogs. Still trying to figure something out about how to retrieve the list or something.

I also won’t be around over the weekend. It’s my birthday weekend (I turn 17 on Sunday! =D ), so as much as I enjoy blogging, I think I’ll take some time off. And besides, I’ll be quite busy celebrating, I think (will be out most of the weekend). I’ll post the Friday Flip-through later, in a couple of hours. But there won’t be a Saturday Sharing or Sunday Shortlist. I’ll return with a new podcast episode on Monday, to update you guys on everything that’s been going on.

In the meantime, I just thought I’d point out something that I just came across, thanks to Andrea Vascellari. Something for you to check out over the weekend, perhaps. Students 2.0. It’s “an attempt to give students a voice in where the future of education is headed.” I think it’s great to see more students getting the opportunities, and stepping out to speak up and be heard. Hopefully they can make an impact.

See you guys on Monday.

My Johari Window

I think most of you would have heard of the Johari Window. For those of you who don’t, it’s “a psychological tool created by Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham in 1955 in the United States, used to help people better understand their interpersonal communication and relationships.” (from Wikipedia).

I would love it if you guys could take some time to contribute to mine. I know I’m asking for a lot of participation and all lately, and I’m sorry for the selfishness. But I would really appreciate the help. I just want to know what you guys think of me, based on my blog, or through any interactions we might have had.

Thanks in advance. =).
