Going to the Army

In Singapore, all guys have to serve in the army for a mandatory two years. And so, I’ll be going into the army on Thursday.

As such, for the next two weeks, I won’t be online. After that, I’ll be online mainly on weekends, I think. So the blog isn’t going to be updated as much. I’m going to miss being able to blog everyday, and I’ll miss the conversations with all of you.

That said, I’ll still be around, the blog will go on, but I just won’t be able to update it daily. I’ll still update as much as possible, though, so I do hope that you’ll subscribe to the RSS feed, or by email. It won’t take much from you, you won’t even notice it’s there when it’s not being updated.

I hope you’ll stick around, and not forget me. I’ll still be contactable by email and all (albeit a bit less responsive), and so, feel free to email me if you ever want to talk or anything.

    Why don't you treat going into army like an adventure instead of something that was meant to torture you and take you away from the things you enjoy doing? No offence or anything but I feel that you are very negative about a situation that you haven't gone through yet.

  • Yes, I am being negative. For the pure fact that it's not something I want to do. I think it's a stupid policy to enforce on everyone, I think it's unnecessary and I think it's a waste of time. So yes, I'm pissed off about it, and in that sense I'm negative.

    I know that there's things I can learn. And definitely, I know that I can probably gain from the experience - you can gain from any experience. I just think that the cost of what I'm giving up isn't worth it - especially when I'm not given a choice.

    Well, you will obviously have to keep in touch via email. I know that we don't talk much, but it'd be nice to hear from you. ;)
  • Yeah, I'm going to the army. Don't really want to, but don't have a choice. And yeah, I'll definitely email you. =).
